Mature gracefully dark skinned beauties? I certainly hope so. Why fight aging when you can have so much fun getting to know the new person you're becoming. Yeah … a few hot flashes, a patch or two of gray hair and a new wrinkle here and there but you wear it well.

Skin care plays a very important role in maturing gracefully. The ingredients you use and the regimen you put in place are crucial. As you mature, an amazing transformation for your psyche takes place. You often gain wisdom and have a greater understanding of who your really are. With that comes wisdom in how you want your skin to look and feel. You may have decided you no longer want to wear makeup. Or, you might want to change to a more natural/organic product. Cream based cleansers with green tea extract will nurture and nourish your skin. They are gentle enough to cleanse without stripping your skin of its natural oils. Speaking of oil, if you were once challenged with oily skin, you should thank your lucky stars now. Oily skin has a tendency to minimize as you age, leaving you with a naturally moisturized looking complexion. Your skin will also benefit from the use of a serum and moisturizer based on its condition and needs. Implementing your regimen twice a day will have your skin looking radiant at all times.

Move Your Body in Order to Mature Gracefully

It goes without saying that exercise is just as important as a facial regimen. It get your blood pumping and circulating providing you with energy and stamina. Exercise is also good for releasing stress. Yes, stress will still be present, just not as much. Right?! You’ve learned that it's best to let go of the BS and keep it stepping. Use gentle forms of exercise to get and keep yourself in shape. A morning walk or an afternoon/evening stroll are both beneficial. Add yoga or a stretch class to keep yourself flexible. Swimming will work all of your body parts. The water can be a great healer and comforting to your joints. Don't forget a little salsa or step class will add icing on the cake for your workout regimen. Your fine brown frame will thank you for it.

Maturing Gracefully With The Foods You Eat

As you shift into another phase of life, your eating habits will change. If you carry stress into your maturing years, it's possible you’ll see weight gain. Let go of the stress! I know, easier said than done. However, learning to eat to live and be healthy is a great way to begin your day. That gorgeous glowing skin that you seek, begins with the foods you eat. Incorporate lots of green foods, be it steamed, raw, sautéed or stir fry. If you have access to local farmers or a farmers market use them. The quality of the food will aid in nourishing your body with the right vitamins, amino acids and minerals. Keep a journal of the foods you eat. Allow your body to tell you how it feels once you consume a meal. You might not be able to eat broccoli raw, but you can steam or sauté it and it works well with your stomach. Breads, rice and pasta may no longer agree with your system. Quinoa might be a great addition instead. Hearty salads can become meals. Eating light and less often will give your system a chance to rest from trying to digest so many foods. It's time to create a food plan and find great new recipes to try. You’ll never be bored when it comes to food. You can become as creative as you choose. Okay ... You're maturing, have fun with it and enjoy the journey! That's it for this week.
